Richard Lydekker 1849-1915
Born in England and a Natural Sciences graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, Lydekker published widely for both the specialist and the general reader, contributing a number of articles to the Encyclopedia Brittanica. He was well known as a geologist and naturalist.
Our prints come from his A Handbook to the Marsupialia and Monotremata, published as part of Allen's Naturalist's Library, in 1894. This work is based on William Jardine's The Naturalist's Library of 1841.
