The earliest images of Australian fauna were depicted by Aboriginal Australians in rock art, pre-dating European attempts at representation by millennia. While by no means complete our collection of early prints, from the first years of white settlement, give a fascinating sense of the impact, on the recent arrivals, of a world beyond their previous experience.
